Hi, I'm Katherine Copsey.
I’m the serving Greens MP for the Southern Metropolitan region
A former planning environment lawyer and local Councillor and Deputy Mayor for the City of Port Phillip from 2016-2022, I’m passionate about supporting sustainable and equitable outcomes for communities in the inner south. I love getting out to chat to locals about how we can achieve positive outcomes for people and our planet, spending time in the beautiful natural environments of the sandy shores of Port Phillip Bay/Nerm, the Yarra/Birrarung river and the region's many precious green spaces and parks, as well as riding my bike on the expanding network of cycle paths to get around
Elected to state parliament in 2022, I’ve held the roles of Victorian Greens spokesperson for Justice, Gambling Harm Reduction, Public Transport and Roads, Major Events and Animal Protection and Deputy Party Room Chair as well as serving as a member of the Legislative Council Economy and Infrastructure Committee.
We will continue to hold the government to account, and stand up for people and the environment.
